The summer is coming to an end with the TOP WAVES which proposes you the ranking of the albums of July and August according to the team of Music Waves

But before looking at the figures, let's see what the official French ranking has in store for us (source Snep).
Jul will have been at the top of the ranking during the last two months but the new season announces a real upheaval with four entries directly at the first four places with respectively "Donda" by -the ex-mister Kim Kardashian- Kanye West followed in second position by "Ta Place dans ce Monde" by Francis Cabrel.

It is necessary to wait for the 88th position to see an album "rock" with Maneskin. Then, it's the hard rock made in France Sortilège which is placed at 96th position with the well named "Phoenix". Finally, we find "Aphelion" of Leprous entering at the 122nd position and "Innocence & Danger" by Neal Morse...

It is also worth mentioning that since the announcement of the sad death of its drummer Charlie Watts, The Rolling Stones have placed no less than six albums in this ranking ("A Bigger Bang - Live on Copacabana Beach", "Stell Wheels Live", "Bridge to Bremen", "Bridge to Buenos Aires", "Voodoo Lounge Uncut" and "Honk").

GENERAL TOP WAVES SUMMER 2021

Against all odds, it is the fifth album of one of the "most influential and inventive bands in Eastern metal" that wins the votes

"Mountain Fever" is a masterpiece, not only of Subterranean Masquerade's discography but also one of the most outstanding productions of this year. It is an inventive, very well constructed and brilliant album that keeps you on the edge of your seat until the last bar and for many listenings." (ProgRacer)

SUBTERRANEAN MASQUERADE Mountain Fever

At the second place of the podium, we find the project of Philippe Bussonnet (ex-Magma), Welcome-X which returns to us with a second part of its adventures and "establishes a little more its style, thanks to inventive and present melodies, while not disavowing its side sound laboratory built around fusional explorations" (Calgepo)

WELCOME-X Welcome-x Vol. 2

In the third place is the new album of Astrakhan.

"Astrakhan's progression is linear, with each new opus surpassing its predecessor, and "A Slow Ride Towards Death" is an optimum in terms of melodies, carnal emotions and band personality." (Nuno777)

TOP WAVES ROCK ETE 2021

Since no non-metal album is present in the general classification, it is without any idea that we approach the classification of the TOP WAVES ROCK.
At the first place is the first album of Mammoth WVH

"With this album Wolfgang Van Halen "answers in the most beautiful way to the question of how to cope with being the son of a legend: by playing his own music, simply. (Newf)

MAMMOTH WVH Mammoth Wvh

As far as legends go, the second one in this ranking is one of them.

"Balancing between ZZTopian tradition and personal experimentation, "Hardware" allows Billy Gibbons to satisfy the expectations of the Texas trio's fans while continuing to explore all the facets of a southern rock with influences open to the world." (Loloceltic)

BILLY GIBBONS Hardware

In last position of this rock podium, we find Hardline that returns with its seventh album, two years after the highly appreciated "Life"."

Hardline est second ex-æquo et non dernier sur le podium, quel outrage que voilà !

Peter Hammill à la quatrième place du classement général et à 2 points seulement des deuxième et troisième ! Il y a donc encore de l’espoir pour les mélomanes .
