TOP WAVES GENERAL
Against all odds, it's the eternal Yes that takes the cake.
"Having blown hot and cold for (too) many years, Yes' 23rd album is somewhat unexpectedly inspiring, given their recent twists and turns and forced (or not) personnel changes." (TonyB)
YES Mirror To The Sky
In second place, we find two heavyweights of the rock scene who, for various reasons, were no longer expected.
The first of these is Extreme, "back to delight fans with 'Six', which requires a certain investment to savor to its full potential." (Gyvy)
EXTREME Six
FOO FIGHTERS But Here We Are
The second runner-up (...) is Foo Fighters, who make a "winning comeback [...] with 'But Here We Are', an album that is certainly mournful, but very successful and inspired". (Nist)

TOP WAVES METAL
With no metal albums in the overall rankings, what will be the TOP WAVES METAL podium?
The undisputed winner is Gorod, with an album that's "technical, melodic and innovative. 'The Orb' is a whirlwind of sound in which Gorod breaks away from its past and extends its style towards modern music with dazzling colors" (ThibautK).
GOROD The Orb
As in the general ranking, two groups share second place in the metal ranking.
The first of these "ex-Vanden Plas, Günter Werno, offers a beautifully written rock/metal opera, alternating classical and progressive metal, that will delight fans of the genre." (ProgRacer)
GÜNTER WERNO Anima One
The second "Queens Of The Stone Age synthesizes with "In Times New Roman" their previous electro-pop-rock evolution and their stoner heritage." (Adrianstork)
