Bloodywood was formed in 2016 by musician and songwriter Karan Katiyar, originally from New Delhi, India. Inspired by the fusion of metal and Indian folk music, Bloodywood fuse aggressive metal riffs with traditional Indian instruments and rapped vocals.
With the arrival of singer Jayant Bhadula, Bloodywood began to refine their music and experiment with blending heavy metal influences with elements of Indian folk music. They incorporated instruments such as the dhol, a traditional Indian drum, and integrated Hindi and Punjabi lyrics into their songs.
As Bloodywood's popularity grew, so did the band's difficulties. They were criticized for their unconventional style and found it hard to get gigs outside India. However, their unshakeable determination and the support of their fans kept them going.
Beyond their music, Bloodywood are known for tackling social and political issues through their lyrics. They tackle issues such as inequality, corruption and mental health, using social networks to advocate change and inspire their audience to question societal norms.
With their unique fusion of metal and Indian folklore, Bloodywood have carved out a special place for themselves on the global metal scene. They have inspired a new generation of musicians to explore diverse cultural influences and embrace their roots while creating genre-defying music.
