PASCALJ - 07.12.2023
June 3, 1964, Düsseldorf (Germany), birth of Doro Pesch. She discovers her passion for music, and singing in particular, at an early age. She began her career with Snakebite, before joining the heavy metal band Warlock in 1983.

They toured German clubs before releasing their 1st demo and being signed to the Mausoleum label. The album that followed in 1984, "Burning the witches", enabled them to sign to Phonogram and to follow up with a second "Hellbound", released in 1985. In 1986, Doro became the first woman to grace the prestigious Monster of Rock stage at Donington. This was followed in 1986 by "True as steel", which sold over a million copies, and in 1987 by "Triumph and agony".

With the constant change of members, coupled with management problems, Doro preferred to record under her own name. In 1989, she released Force majeure under the name Doro & Warlock, which went gold in Germany with over 250,000 copies sold. By 1990, she had decided to work with a variety of studio musicians rather than with a group that was holding her back, and released the album Doro in 1990. After touring Germany for several months, she returned to the studio, releasing Angels Never Die in February 1993. The "Bad Blood" video earned her the title of Best Anti-Racist Video at the MTV Awards. This was followed by the "Angels never die tour", from which the album "Doro live" was taken.

1995, release of "Machine II machine", then signed to WEA (Warner), with whom she released "Love me in black" in 1998. At the end of her tour, she left WEA for SPV. Back in 2000, she was back on stage, in the USA and on European festival stages (Wacken, Bang your head). Release of the album "Calling the wild" in September, with prestigious guests such as Slash, Lemmy (Motorhead), Eric Singer (Kiss), etc., soon followed by an American tour with Dio and Yngwie Malmsteem. The band then embarked on a European tour, which began in February 2001, taking in Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Russia and England.

In 2002, Doro released the album "Fight", as well supported as ever by Jean Beauvoir, Peter Steele (Type O Negative), Chris Caffery (Savatage) and Russ Balard. The band celebrated 20 years on stage on December 13, 2003, with guest appearances by Lemmy, UDO, Blaze Bailey and Mickey Dee. For the occasion, Warlock reformed in front of more than 6,000 fans.

Following the fashion of the time, she re-recorded some of her hits, accompanied by the Classic Night Orchestra. This stylistic exercise was a great success, and was released in 2004 under the name "Classic Diamonds". The tour that followed was immortalized on the DVD "Classic Diamonds - The Dvd". In 2005, Doro took part in the filming of "Anuk - Le chemin du guerrier" before returning to the studio. She returned in 2006 with the album Warrior soul, followed by a tour with Sonata Arctica.

Over the years, Doro has continued to offer new albums, with a hiatus of several years between "Fear No Evil" and "Fur Immer", the latest of which, "Conqueress", is faithful to what she has been able to offer up to now.

At almost sixty years of age, she may be looking forward to a well-deserved retirement, but as a stainless steel metal queen, Doro continues to preach the good metal word, tirelessly.
