Anubis Gate is a Danish progressive metal band formed in Aalborg, Denmark, in 2001. The band's core members are Henrik Fevre (vocals), Jesper M. Jensen (guitar and keyboards) and Morten Sørensen (drums). They were later joined by Kim Olesen (guitar and keyboards) and Michael Bodin (guitar) to complete the band's current line-up.
Anubis Gate released their self-titled debut album in 2004, which was very well received by progressive metal fans. The album featured richly varied compositions, showcasing the members' instrumental talents as well as Henrik Fevre's powerful vocals. Songs like 'Purification' and 'Children of the Pauper King' quickly caught the attention of fans and critics alike.
The success of their debut album enabled Anubis Gate to carve out a place for themselves on the progressive metal scene. They went on to release several more critically acclaimed albums, such as 2007's 'Andromeda Unchained', 2009's 'The Detached' and 2014's 'Horizons'. Each album has cemented the band's reputation as masters of complex composition and careful arrangements.
Over the years, Anubis Gate has maintained a distinct musical identity while exploring new sonic horizons. Their albums show a constant evolution, incorporating electronic elements, atmospheric ambiences and diverse influences. Their latest album, "Interference", released in 2023, is once again a concentration of the best of Progressive Metal.

DID YOU KNOW?
The band's name, Anubis Gate, is inspired by Egyptian mythology. Anubis is the Egyptian god associated with death and the passage to the afterlife, while "Gate" refers to a door symbolizing the transition between two worlds.
Before becoming Anubis Gate, the band was simply called "Anubis". However, due to copyright problems, they had to add the word "Gate" to their name.
As well as playing guitar and keyboards in Anubis Gate, Kim Olesen is also a member of power metal band Pyramaze and progressive metal band Wuthering Heights.
Anubis Gate was nominated at the Danish Metal Awards in the "Best Metal Album" category for their 2008 album "Andromeda Unchained". The band also won "Best Metal Album" at the Danish ProgAwards for their album "Horizons".
