With three albums of unstoppable melodic precision, the Germans of The Intersphere are a European reference in a style whose centre of gravity has always been Anglo-Saxon. After "Hold On, Liberty!" released in 2012, it is "Relations In The Unseen" which honours the two-year rhythm between each album, a period of time that the group has imposed itself to offer the best of its alternative rock.
Oscillating from the classy pop sometimes nervous with 'Tonight', sometimes symphonic with the magnificent 'Origin Unknown' to the frenetic fusion of 'Relations In The Unseen' The Intersphere masters rock in almost all its meanings and goes so far as to titillate the progressive when the quartet achieves an ultimate synthesis ('Golden Mean'). This dexterity comes through undeniable technical qualities, even if they are not demonstrative, and a creativity that shapes the smallest detail of a song. The recording of the twelve tracks under live conditions restores an energy and sincerity that contribute to the undeniable charm of this art-rock whose most glorious representatives are (were?) Dredg and Muse.
"Relations In The Unseen" is a rhythmically very varied record, nuanced in its intentions, be they powerful ('Thanks For Nothing') or languid ('The Ones We Never Knew') and harmonically very rich. The band even goes one step further in the heavy emotion that undeniably brings them closer to the Americans of Jolly with the tracks '...Like It Is' and 'Out Of Phase'. The Germans' know-how is brilliant in their ability to give a lot of variety in the textures (and the guitar sounds greatly contribute to this) while ensuring the coherence of the album.
Less progressive and more arranged than "Interspheres><Atmospheres" "Relations In The Unseen" is very easily affordable with its short formats and this primacy to melody. The fear of getting tired of this kind of very immediate record disappears in front of the fact that after about ten listenings desire and pleasure are still there. "Relations In The Unseen" allows The Intersphere to correct the few slight flaws of "Hold On, Liberty!" and to affirm its style in the most convincing way. - Official website
