In 2008 we had left, with many regrets, the Canadians of Harem Scarem on their testament album surprisingly named "Hope". And hope came quickly when Harry Hess, their frontman, proposed "Living In Yesterday" as a solo album in 2012, a hope that was quickly confirmed when the following year the band revisited their second opus "Mood Swings" by launching on the market a "Mood Swings II" which contained three unreleased tracks. The tour that followed was the third stage leading to hope. It couldn't be otherwise, Harem Scarem was about to take off again with Lesperance and Hess on board.
"Thirteen" comes today and will put everyone in agreement, at least those who swear by AOR, Hard FM, in short, melodic Hard Rock. Indeed, this 40-minute gem is nothing less than the best album of Harem Scarem. Thus, the ten tracks proposed here are a summary of the best that can be done in the genre. It is therefore impossible to resist the waves of harmonies and silky melodies that envelop each of their achievements. Powerful enough to satisfy the refractory to some of the AOR's overly soft tendencies, but containing its share of quieter moments to attract the quietest among us, this album ultimately cultivates a rare melodic Power Pop Hard Rock ethic.
Here is, in this end of year, an opus that will inevitably find its place on the podium of the genre. What a phenomenal comeback! - Official website
