Young band founded in 2010, Overcharger offers us its first studio album, "All That We Had", a little more than a year after having released a first EP of 3 tracks. The will of the band is to find the spirit of southern rock metal in the lineage of Down or Crowbar, placing themselves in the sludge galaxy which produced many very good albums.

"All That We Had" contains only 8 tracks, but takes the time to meticulously develop its ideas. While sticking to its influences, it also asserts its personality, adding to its southern metal base elements close to Lynyrd Skynyrd and sometimes hardcore aspects on the vocals. Several excellent tracks worthy of the great names revered by the band emerge from this opus.

One will retain in particular 'Temptations', 'Down South' or still 'Outlaw', very groovy and well fat. The bass is tasty on the introduction of 'Temptations' while the guitar riffs are right in the spirit of the genre with this heavy aspect so characteristic. Finally, Seb's vocals fit perfectly with the music, and the alchemy works perfectly. If the influences are certainly obvious, they are perfectly assimilated.

But Overcharger knows how to vary its music: on 'Streets Of Terror', the vocals is in a very incisive hardcore spirit and marries marvelously with the heavy music, while the swirls of the south of the United States blows on 'Don't Get Lady Bitch', 'Hidden By The Moon' and 'I Was A Soldier'.  In these very beautiful songs we find all that made the charm of Down with this small irresistible rock side.

"All That We Had" is a rich and warm work which allows Overcharger to pay a beautiful tribute to the southern culture, whether it is metallic or rock. With "All That We Had", he launches himself into the fray with efficiency and makes us want to follow his course very closely.
