"A softer and more melodic part of the "Kingdom Of The Night II" dyptych, this "White Edition" is a great success that confirms Axxis' talent for melodic and catchy hard rock."

It is in homage to his first album that Axxis decided to offer two records as a 25th anniversary, even though a tribute had already been paid to him in the year 2000 with "Back To The Kingdom". The first one, "Kingdom Of The Night II (Black Edition)", sees the Germans proposing heavy tracks, this facet having had a great importance in the band's return to grace. The second one, "Kingdom Of The Night II (White Edition)", sees Axxis delivering songs in a softer vein. And this more melodic and classic hard rock style has also had a great importance in the band's career.

It will be remembered that at its beginnings the combo was compared to Scorpions for its melodic strength. This is a "white" edition like the purity of the melodies proposed in these songs, so many titles like 'Heaven In Paradise', 'Living In A Dream', 'Mary Married A Monster' or 'We Are The World' are small nuggets with a small side very fresh pop which makes its effect. The choruses are irresistible, the tone is light, and Bernhard Weiss is perfect on vocals in this catchy register. The ballads are just as effective, '21 Crosses' is poignant and 'My Eyes' is exactly in the spirit of what Scorpions was proposing in his great era.

On the other hand, Axxis reminds us that he had a head start in heavy melodic music, without the need for speed to convince. 'Hall Of Fame' and 'Take Me Far Away' are very successful with excellent choruses and superb riffs and solos. And the band also knows how to get out of the usual style of the genre by proposing folk touches on an irresistible 'Dance Into Life' and by flirting with the classic on the ballad 'Gone With The Wind' which is based on Bach.

This white album is a complete success. Superior to its black twin, it confirms that Axxis excels in the soft and catchy facet. And even if we like his heavier side, it is clear that Axxis' soul and strength lies in his incredible melodic talent.
