"Excellent entry point into the magical world of Mostly Autumn, "For All We Shared" presents a band certainly very influenced by Pink Floyd but already possessing an unusual maturity."

Released in 1998, "For All We Shared" is the first album of a very young English band, Mostly Autumn, created less than a year earlier! Great admirer of Pink Floyd, its leader, Bryan Josh, offers us here a work inspired for half by his idols.
For half because this album has really two parts with different tonalities. The first one is well in the Pink Floyd's movement with titles in which Josh acts like Gilmour as well in the vocals as in the guitar! Whether it's on 'Nowhere to hide' and its chorus that hits the nail on the head or on the huge 'The last climb' in which Bob Faulds' violin appears for the first time, Mostly Autumn announces that if its music is very influenced, it is marked by the brilliance of its performers.
Another signature of Mostly Autumn is the voice of Heather Findlay who, for this first opus, is often content to underline Bryan's vocals. The wonderful vocal duet on 'Heroes never die', a bravura piece of more than 9 minutes which marks the end of the "first part" of the album, allows her to show her talent.
The following title, 'Folklore', introduces the "second part" more folkloric and of Celtic inspiration. This instrumental starts on a wild jig led by a violin whose accents take us in a warm atmosphere of Irish pub. After a languorous 'Boundless ocean' carried by a low and melancholic flute and violin, we find the cheerfulness of the jig on 'Shenanigans'. After a new ballad a little sad ("Steal away") comes 'Out of the inn', a playful wink to the "Lord of the Rings", another source of inspiration for Josh. The album ends with 'The night sky', the longest piece of the album, but also the composition led to gather musicians to form the band. It is a long and very atmospheric conclusion in which the guitars cry one last time in a final and magnificent solo to make more than one guitarist envious!
"For All We Shared" is a real masterpiece which only needs a more dynamic production to become a must-have... And it is undoubtedly an excellent entry point into the magical world of Mostly Autumn. - Official website
