CRAZY LIXX: Forever Wild (MELODIC HARD ROCK): review / opinion to read on Music Waves

For about ten years now, the Scandinavians of Crazy Lixx have been offering us their hard rock glam and sleaze straight out of the 80's. Well we will be able to pull our spandex out of the closet again because the happy drills have just released their sixth album, a "Forever Wild" awaited by the fans like a toddler awaits Christmas.

And for once, we take the same ones and start over, the line-up this time hasn't changed since the previous opus. As for the formula, it has not evolved either and that is good. The recipe is quite simple and the Swedes have probably hidden enough ingredients in their garage to make us do it again each time. In the end, it is enough to compose nastily groovy tracks, with federating choruses fundamentally catchy, endowed with a retro dynamism, tinged with a certain exuberance and which generously sow joyful choirs . So here, of course, it's once again the hits fair, the big number one songs clearance sale, the temple of easy listening, the big radio friendly mass. Ten pieces, equivalent to as many radio bombs, are placed at our feet.

Listening to them, today's quinquas will embark on Doc's DeLorean and go back to the past to the sound of the choruses of their idols of yesteryear. The radio on board will broadcast the titles of Def Leppard, 220 Volts, Heavy Pettin', Motley Crue, Freedom Call and Bon Jovi.

We are swimming here in the middle of a vintage era, so there's no place here for the innovative move, certainly, but for God's sake, this nostalgia is good when its origin comes from pieces so well thought out melodically speaking and endowed with an energy and sound to dehorn a herd of transgenic oxen. Impossible then to remain impassive to the listening of "Break Out" and "Silent Thunder" whose opening riffs are a torture for the cervicals, to remain in marble on the final all in guitars of "Never Die (Forever Wild)", not to jump like the Marsupilami on "It's You" or not to crack on "Love Don "t Live Here Anymore", classical but succeful ballad of of the 80's.

So let's thank our permed and excited Crazy Lixx energetic people for bringing us this new dose of well-being and musical smiles. These are probably pleasures that some will find very outdated, but no matter what, synaesthesia is not yet a shameful disease. Come on, get on board, a DeLorean awaits you... - Official website
