When Jack E left Amaranthe in 2017, we never imagined that he would find a new home and make a name for himself that same year. However, two years ago, he succeeded in forming a new group that released a very good "Letters To Myself. Cyhra was born that year. Also composed of Jesper Strömblad, guitarist from Hammerfall and In Flames and Alex Landenburg, the new drummer from Kamelot having dragged his drums to Lucas Turilli's house, the new formation had triggered some questions about the musical style that would be chosen. It was nevertheless clear: huge melodies and guitars that fit in.
This new production is even more melodic than its older brother and even more muscular. Could it be the fault of the second guitarist, an Euge Valovirta emerging from Shinning? In terms of musical style, Cyrha seems to be a blend of Kamelot's inspirations with those of Sixx A.M. with an ounce of 30 Seconds To Mars when they are angry. We talked about Melodic power tinged with neo-soft metal about the first opus ? This is exactly the same here.
"No Halos In Hell" contains only hits, unstoppable melodies, powerfully addictive, carried by syncopated and striking riffs and short and sharp soli. Cyhra has a supernatural gift for dynamiting harmonies and making them fatal, assuming both its virility and its commercial intentions. All the tracks on this album are a pure delight for fans of the genre, those who appreciate mainstream and catchy metal. If it is necessary mention a track, let's talk about "Battle From Inside" written in memory of the frontman's brother and which deals with suicide. This piece, beautiful to cry about and carrying with emphasis a moving hope, deserves to compete for the single of the year.
