With Depraved, we find a band from Nancy who has been working since the mid-90s in a brutal death tinged with grindcore. After a 6-year hiatus, the band came back in 2011 in great shape with "Drive Into Psycho Terror". Here he is back with "Raped Innocence" and considering the title and especially the very disturbing cover, it's easy to guess that the band didn't calm down for a single moment.
After a creepy intro, Depraved starts off with a bang and knocks us out with ferocity. 'See My Suffering World' and 'God Forgiven I Don't' are very direct and dynamic tracks. The rhythm is intense, Kristoff tears out his voice with a fearsome grind. There is some Cannibal Corpse in this controlled violence but also some Deicide for the gut-wrenching side with fast riffs and a creepy dark aspect.
After this thunderous beginning, the band calms down the game a bit with some brutal death pieces that stick to the seat like a Benighted. The dark 'The Mask Of Terror' makes you tremble with its plaintive and icy vocals. 'Prisoner In My Hand', '50 Shades Of Blood', 'Mental Illness' and 'Corridor Of Insanity' stick you to the wall. The riffs are fast and intense with a thrilling violence. Kristoff's growl impresses with its cavernous and lugubrious tone, and the variations with crazy power-ups are great. At the end of the album, we go back to the grind with 'Asylum', a moment of pure violence, perfect to end the record in beauty.
