Two years after a good "United", Harem Scarem comes back to visit us with his fifteenth album. The Canadian band, masterfully led by frontman Harry Hess and guitarist Pete Lesperance, has chosen to call it "Change The World"... a vast program.

Harem Scarem is one of the rare competitors of the current heavyweights of the melodic hard rock scene, almost all of them Scandinavian. Offering more muffled productions, however, they have long since found a recognizable sound and hooked a sizeable fringe of hard rockers preferring softness to power.

"Change The World" is the sequel of "United". Equally racy and exciting, the opus features eleven tracks filled with invasive riffs, sparkling solos and memorably tenacious melodies. As for Hess's recognizable grainy voice, it finishes the job and takes you with it into its lair like a ruthless predator.

The good tracks follow one another happily, the band having a real facility to produce very melodic compositions. From the eponymous track with an initial Irish style to 'Aftershock' that hits the gas pedal, from 'Searching For Meaning' and its catchy chorus to the excellent 'The Death Of Me', from the ballad 'Mother Of Invention' that sporadically brings you back to Queen to 'In The Unknown', whose liveliness will easily galvanize you, everything is thoughtful, calibrated and efficient. We won't forget to talk about the huge 'Swallowed By The Machine' which has a chorus that will make you get up at night.

Harem Scarem has struck again and this 'Change The World' is a new cornerstone. Firmly anchored in their position as leaders of the Canadian scene, these men with maple flowers never cease to please us. Thanks to them.
