"We Are The Night" is the name of Magnus Karlsson's third solo adventure. Endowed with an apocalyptic darkness cover, the work gathers, and it's a tradition in this project, a lot of renowned guest singers like Dino Jelusick (Animal Drive, Dirty Shirley and Trans-Siberian Orchestra), Mike Andersson (Cloudscape), Noora Louhimo (Battle Beast), Renan Zonta (Electric Mob), Ronnie Romero (Rainbow, The Ferrymen, CoreLeoni, Vandenberg) or Tony Martin (ex-Black Sabbath).
"FreeFall" and "Kingdom Rock" were very good. Well, this one is even better! The work is a marvel of melodic heavy power metal, especially on its opening part. Unstoppable choruses, Dantesque interpretations, telluric riffs, flaming solos, powerful and varied drums (Anders Köllerfors is an octopus), keyboards and weighted symphonic orchestrations, the whole wrapped in Karlsson's hyper-recognizable style (he takes care of everything but the drums), here is the menu that is proposed to you.
'Hold Your Fire', with its breathtaking start, will leave you breathless right away. Served by telluric riffs and Jelusick's hallucinating vocals, this track is a must. 'Kingdom Falls', where Zonta takes the microphone, has little to envy him. Perhaps less well known than his predecessor, the gentleman nevertheless possesses extraordinary vocal abilities. His attack on the song is truly demonic. As for his performance on the exceptional 'Dreams And Scars' in which some Apocalyptica's flavours hover, it's downright hallucinating.
Honour to women is given with the presence of Noora Louhimo (Battle Beast) whose perfectly mastered 'Queen Of Fire' brings us back to the melodies Tarja is used to. As for Andersson, he gets one of the best tracks of the opus, the magnificent 'All The Way To The Stars', covered in acoustic format at the end of the work, which strongly reminds us of Avantasia in a muscular version.
"We Are The Night" is an amazing record. Fans of the guitarist should be prepared for a shock, he's never been so inspired, in compositions and choice of singers. As for those who would have missed this phenomenon, it's still time to make up for lost time . Welcome into the night! - Official website

). Une découverte pour moi
