Rob Moratti is the voice of Final Frontiers, a Canadian hard FM band who wrote four albums between 2002 and 2006, but also the voice of Saga for the time of the only opus The Human Condition (2009) where he replaced Michael Sadler. We find the same team as the one at work last year. Tony Franklin - the former bassist of The Firm, who was invited by Whitesnake for his 1997 world tour - is still there, as is the excellent guitarist Torben Enevoldsen, assisted this time by Joel Hoekstra and Ian Chrichton, the current guitarists of Whitesnake and Saga.

Rob Moratti knows what melody means. So, he didn't make a mistake in relying, for the compositions of this album, on the safe values that are Pete Alpenborg (the keyboard of Arctic Rain) and Felix Borg who worked with Art Nation. Various qualifiers come to mind when listening to the work: passionate (Moratti's involvement is striking), refreshing (he sends good vibes), harmonious and melodious. This opus clearly refers us to Journey and Shy. It is sprinkled with chiselled guitars and opportune keyboards (thank you Mr. Enevoldsen), but also with catchy choruses. As for Moratti's voice, so particular, it is impeccably adapted to the musical genre and to his desires: to instantly catch the audience's attention and never let it go.

In view of the high quality of all tracks, the common structure of their conception and their melodic typology, it would be tedious and useless to evoke them all. Let's just note here some hits, like the mid-tempo 'All I'm Living For', 'Alone Anymore' very close to Shy and the most rhythmically supported 'Bullet Proof Alibi' and 'Rise Above', without forgetting the ballad 'Where Do We Go From Here' which reminds us of the good memories of Reo Speedwagon.

The feeling of déjà entendu will certainly tickle your brain when listening to this timeless mix of hard rock and AOR, but if you're a fan of the style, you're sure to appreciate. This is, without a doubt, one of the tenor hard FM opus of this year 2020.

HARDCORE - "Sangheilis" is a modern metal EP, between metalcore and deathcore adorned with symphonic orchestrations, beastly power or melody.
BLACK STONE CHERRY: The Human Condition (2020)
ROCK - "The Human Condition" sees Black Stone Cherry resolutely take a heavy turn with which it gains in power what it loses in nuances.
