Formed two years ago by the famous bassist and composer Alberto Rigoni, Natural Born Machine is a newcomer on the melodic hard rock scene. Author of eight albums ranging from progressive rock to fusion, Rigoni hired a British singer, David Readman, frontman of Pink Cream 69, Voodoo Circle and Room Experience.
With such a voice, it would be easy to imagine that the great interest of this association of musicians would be his presence. But it's not really the case! If Readman's talent is not foreign to the good performance of this "Human", the guitar parts, and especially the bass, are the cornerstones. Predominant on the whole of the ten titles composing this opus, the four-string of Rigoni constitutes their principal skeleton. It forges the character of the work and its association with the guitar held by Alessio Tricarico (Bas As) is calibrated with a millimetric precision. This remarkable pair is moreover supported by a powerful drums set.
Natural Born Machine reminds Whitesnake by its parsimonious bluesy effluvia and Pink Cream 69 thanks to Readman (of course). We have, most of the time, mid-tempi tracks, with melodious flights worthy of Pink Cream 69. The melodies developed on this work are regularly catchy, especially those of 'Monster' and 'A New Future'. The structures of the tracks are rather complex, even progressive. Thus, Ark suddenly comes to our mind at the bend of some movements, notably when listening to 'Reborn' and 'Beast In The Dark'.
"Human" is a very rich album, with particular tonalities resulting from a clever mixture of the genres. It takes all its savor in the course of the listening and the discoveries which are offered to us. Let's hope that we will have the opportunity to enjoy again undeniable qualities of Natural Born Machine. - Official website
