With "Necrophaze", Wednesday 13 had proposed an excellent theatrical and horrific hard rock worthy of the masters and in particular Alice Cooper of whom it is the worthy heir. The band is back with "Necrophaze - Antidote", a digital EP of 4 tracks coming from the recording sessions. It includes two rereads of tracks from Wednesday's former band Frankenstein Drag Queens and two covers.

'Your Mother Still Sucks Cocks In Hell' is a total pleasure. It's a great horror rock moment with its catchy rock'n'roll, an excellent chorus carried by Wednesday's rocky voice and a delicious theatrical side. 'Screwdriver 2 - The Return' is an energetic missile with a Motörhead-like hardness and a chorus with very rock'n'roll backing vocals.

The two covers are far from the universe of the band. Coming from the repertoire of INXS, 'Devil Inside' goes through the hard rock mill and the result is nice. The band has fun, we find the irresistible dancing melody of this hit as well as its unstoppable chorus carried by the hoarse voice of Wednesday. Borrowed from Gary Numan, 'Films' is in the same spirit of the original with the same bewitching charm, the rough vocal doesn't distort the title and the participation of Calico Cooper, Alice's daughter, is an appreciable plus in the form of a link with the master.

"Necrophaze - Antidote" is a nice gift from Wednesday 13 to his fans. It confirms the artistic health of the singer and his band who deliver a deliciously dark and catchy hard rock.

OTHER REVIEWS
PETER FRAMPTON: Frampton Forgets The Words (2021)
ROCK - Forgetting the words, Frampton graces us with a skillful and bewitching revisiting of little-known titles and gives them a second life, sometimes flattering. For the amateurs of jazz blues and those of guitar in the broad sense.
SYLVAN: One To Zero (2021)
PROGRESSIVE ROCK - More immediate than "Home" but less striking than "Posthumous Silence", "One to Zero" confirms Sylvan's know-how in progressive music.
