""Rat Child" is a nice EP from a Crobot who perfectly handles a 70's tinted hard rock full of heat."

Within the pack of 70's hard rock bands that appeared these last years, the Americans of Crobot are part of the leading group. Without being at the level of a Rival Sons, with "Welcome To Fat City" then "Motherbrain", they showed an excellent level, reminding all the groove of an era. Before coming back with a fourth opus, Crobot offers himself a little recreation with "Rat Child", a 4 tracks episode with several guests.
'Mountain' welcomes Anthrax's bassist Frank Bello, who became friends with Crobot's musicians. The fruit of their work gives a track full of feeling and a groove whose heat is drawn from the 70's. The bass plays a nice role and we can only appreciate a superb chorus and a beautiful melody. 'Kiss It Goodbye' is a track taken from the "Motherbrain" sessions, which welcomes Howard Jones. Strong riffs with a heavy tone and a solo in a pure stoner spirit are on the program, with the powerful voice of Jones that makes its effect. It also has some restrained psychedelic aspects, which give the track a certain charm.
'Everyone Dies' welcomes Stix Zadina of Steel Panther and the latter imposes his touch on the piano, delivering a grandiloquent rock not far from Queen or Meat Loaf with a nice rise in power. The charm operates with a colorful side worthy of the masters. 'Rat Child' finds the 70's side full of groove and feeling through typical riffs of the style and a solo full of class.
"Rat Child" is a nice gift from the band to its fans. Crobot shows a great shape with a beautiful capacity to vary the pleasures. All this is promising for the future and lets us hope for a brilliant album. - Official website
