On the eve of celebrating their twentieth anniversary, the Swedes of Crazy Lixx put an end to the impatience of their fans by offering "Street Lethal", the seventh jewel on their crown. The Malmö gang hasn't dawdled since the release of "Forever Wild", but this last one had so much shaken the 80's hard melo fans that the arrival of its little brother was very awaited.

The quintet remains faithful to its roots and its passions. Those who don't appreciate the outrageousness with which they assert their hair metal only have not to embark on the train of the good mood chartered by these merry men who refuse to grow old and to take themselves seriously. The Swedes certainly did not invent anything, but they obviously know how to make tracks that groove with federative choruses.

Operated by this energetic of the microphone that is Danny Roxon, the massive production of the object, doubled by the mixing of Tobias Lindell, the master of work at H.E.A.T. and Europe, confers an explosive power to the ten hits proposed in this "Street Lethal". The exuberant frontman leads the audience in the furrow he traces with catchy and retro flights and spreads his communicative joy. At the heart of these galvanizing whirlwinds, the listener is carried from one band to another and smiles when recognizing Heavy Pettin', Def Leppard, Mötley Crüe and other Ratt.

It is difficult to extract one track rather than the other from this opus which does not suffer from any slackening except maybe the instrumental 'Final Fury' and its drum machine. However, there is a good chance that the riff of 'Rise Above' will make followers, that 'The Power', unstoppable anthem, will raise the crowds and that the AOR sounds of 'Reach Out' will please the fans of the style. 'Thief In The Night' is a real melodic hard rock joy with magnificent guitars and certainly the best song composed so far by the Swedes.

Crazy Lixx continues its faultless journey with this thundering "Street Lethal", which brings a real musical well-being. Not to be missed!

OTHER REVIEWS
DUST IN MIND: Ctrl (2021)
MELODIC METAL - This very beautiful "CTRL" shows a new facet of the talent of Dust In Mind.
PORTRAIT: At One With None (2021)
HEAVY METAL - there are two ways to approach Portrait: forget that it owes everything to the Danes and appreciate "At One With None" as a solid old-fashioned heavy album, or judge that it only recycles what others have done (better) before it.
