""Light, Fire & Iron" is not only a first class melodic speed album... Hopes Of Freedom installs there a heroïc fantasy side which gives to the whole a rather irresistible cinematographic touch."

Hopes Of Freedom had shown on "Burning Skyfall" an interesting potential in terms of melodic power metal. Not far from a Rhapsody, they signed a record with many qualities, which made you want to discover the next one. Thanks to a successful Ulule campaign, he offers today with "Light, Fire & Iron" the last part of his fantasy trilogy. Displaying a cover as successful as the previous ones and marking the end of a stage, this record is built like a big show movie with a disorienting adventure side.

A positive aspect stands out in the first part of the record: Lucas' vocals is convincing, he has gained in maturity and charisma and carries the tracks with a nice melodic strength and a good capacity to climb in the high notes. Musically it sounds like a meeting between Freedom Call and Rhapsody with a nice epic breath and a fresh and direct side. There is dynamism, successful choruses with typical choirs in a speed melodic spirit worthy of Helloween or Gamma Ray. The folk and dancing side comes out in 'The Heroes Line' with a catchy melody worthy of an adventure movie.

The second part of the album sees the band totally switch to the epic adventure side with the diptych 'A Tale Of Glory'. Bagpipe in intro, acoustic, a softer vocals and emotional strength, the first part is mysterious. The second part, more energetic, reconnects with the folk style with a riff worthy of Amorphis. The title is flamboyant and allows to approach the great final in the best way. At 15 minutes long, 'Light, Fire & Iron' is a remarkable conclusion to the album and the trilogy, with a nice introduction and a great mix between folk, fantasy and melodic speed. The narration reinforces the cinematic character and the alternation between heavy ardor and calm passages is remarkable.

More homogeneous and well worked, "Light, Fire & Iron" is a success that sees Hopes Of Freedom take an important step forward. The band progresses in a nice way and signs a work combining melodic speed and freshness. The continuation of its adventures will be to follow closely.
