NDKH is a new french band inspired by the djent, deathcore and metalcore scene but working to find its own identity, between irrepressible assaults and electronic incursions. Because beyond the in-your-face aspect of the above-mentioned genres, the band allows itself to explore the borders of a hypnotic and devastating electric Hell: flayed vocal cords for the two singers transforming each word into a steamroller, metal cords heavy with gasoline and drums hammered to fusion.

Fusion is the key word to open the doors of Paradise. And it's not a lie this time. The lead riffs march on and crush everything in their path, the rhythm section hammering each Trojan Hun until the decibels don't grow back anymore.

But in the heart of the battlefield, clear atmospheres let us see a light in the middle of the carnage, a lull in the middle of the storm, a whisper in the middle of the din. 'El Djontos', 'Ever' or 'Words Unlocked' become labyrinths where the rhythms meander and wind, mixing clear vocals and hip-hop beats with the expected devastation, the explored shores gaining even more substance and depth.

Adorned with two interludes similar to (de-)compression locks ('Trauma' and the title track), "If Heaven Is A Lie" reveals itself to be a journey to the confines of the imagination, where sounds and images collide until they become sensations and memories.

Heaven may be a lie, but Hell is far more appealing.

After all, as the last track, 'Where Could We Go ?

PRAYING MANTIS: Katharsis (2022)
MELODIC HARD ROCK - "Katharsis", Praying Mantis' twelfth album, sees the English continuing their evolution towards an AOR a little too conventional to really catch on the listener.
STEVE VAI: Inviolate (2022)
GUITAR HERO - "Inviolate" is an extraordinary album by an extraordinary musician. A great Steve Vai.
