The Flying Bricks is a human adventure that started in 2015. Worthy descendant of Bring Me The Horizon, Arctic Monkeys or Royal Blood, the band from France first released a first EP, "Jimmy", followed by "Fake Empire", which allowed them to perform mainly in France, but also abroad with some dates in Ukraine. In spite of its total independence in every respect, the quartet still manages to schedule about a hundred concert dates. It is then that the four musicians seek to move up a gear by releasing "Chimeric", their third EP, in March 2022. Label (M&O), communication attaché, participative financing, the formation does not skimp on the means to concretize its ambitions.
On the program, we have energetic and punchy tracks ('Sleepy Hollow'), ballads ('Chimeric') and calmer and more minimalist ambiences ('Daydream'). But it is especially when he tries to free himself from the codes of the genre that The Flying Bricks appears the most relevant with notably the audacious 'Underclub' and its disco sounds, reminiscent of the 80s. We have to wait until the end of the EP to listen to what seems to be the most solid track of the whole. 'Surrounded' is melodic, with sometimes modern metal/djent guitar phrasing, always a real sense of melody and an interesting construction with a final that should make wonders on stage.
As the band confided to us in an interview, it is still too early to measure the success of this new album, especially thanks to a strong communication and marketing effort. The Flying Bricks will perform on the stage of the Boule Noire in Paris on September 3rd, 2022, where they will defend their new EP. - Official website
