"Cut in the best of a typically 80's heavy metal, Skull Fist's "Paid In Full" is an excellent album which will delight the amateurs of the genre."

Skull Fist was formed in 2006 in Toronto by singer and guitarist Zach Slaughter. Since then, the Canadian band has come a long way and has established itself as one of the spearheads of the new melodic heavy metal generation alongside Enforcer and Night Demon. Since the release of "Way Of The Road", the band has seen the departure of guitarist Jonny Nesta who has not been replaced. "Paid In Full", composed of 8 tracks, barely exceeds half an hour like the albums of the 80s.
The listening confirms the anchoring of Skull Fist in a sound plunging in the golden age of heavy metal. It includes tracks that one can imagine to be devastating in concert: 'Long Live Metal', 'For The Last Time' and 'Heavier Than Metal' are short and direct, in a 80's spirit with riffs worthy of an M.S.G. or Judas Priest. The soli are ignited and Zach's vocals is remarkable, powerful and high.
If the other tracks are less direct, they are just as successful, often sounding like anthologies in the glory of heavy metal, mixing a hard rock tinted heavy speed worthy of Accept with a high-pitched vocal. Their melodic character also refers to Scorpions ('Madman' with its catchy melody and strong riff evokes 'The Zoo').
"Paid In Full" is fresh and nice, Skull Fist confirms there a huge talent for a good old melodic heavy metal. Without ever being backward-looking, it offers a nice tribute to a timeless genre. - Official website
