"With "Born From Fire", Induction offers a power metal not very original but very melodic approaching (too) Beats In Black, between melodic efficiency, dancing riff and symphonic arrangements."

Three years after a promising self-titled debut album, German progressive power metal quintet Induction has just released its second effort on Atomic Fire Records. Hoped by the band as "an album capable of capturing the attention of many generations of heavy metal fans", is "Born From Fire" a promising album ?
Heavy metal, "Born From Fire" is for sure. Progressive? We ask to see. Symphonic? Certainly, and even from the first bars of the inaugural 'Born From Fire' with its Nightwish-like keyboards, its heavy orchestration, its fast tempo and its high voice. Very melodic, the track also seems to borrow modern and popular codes dear to the Scandinavians of Battle Beast and even more to the Finns of Beast In Black from whom the Germans are clearly inspired.
So far nothing very original, but the production signed Jacob Hansen sets the bar very high and the sound is powerful and enveloping. In the same melodic vein tinged with electro, 'Fallen Angel', 'Go To Hell' and 'Embers' shine by their melodic efficiency and their symphonic-modern arrangements. It is necessary to wait for 'Order & Chaos' and 'The Beauty Of Monstrance' to see the Germans muscling up the subject and proposing a more aggressive and less smooth metal, and appreciating a more furious vocals and finally finding progressive developments worthy of this name. With a last third of the album more or less repeating the recipes seen at the beginning, certainly with a certain talent for melodic efficiency, it is necessary to wait for the final 'Sacrifice' to find a title showing more character and personality, mixing wild instrumental parts, throaty vocals and more original melodies in the manner of Dynazty.
Induction offers with this "Born From Fire" an efficient and powerful melodic power metal. It also gathers a number of electro, symphonic, progressive and modern ingredients ensuring it, indeed, to potentially please most of the heavy metal fans. So, contract fulfilled? Not quite, because the surge of decibels and melodies does not completely hide a lack of originality combined with a scattering that struggles to capture the attention of the listener throughout the album. However, if it's impossible to like everything, it's even more impossible to appreciate nothing in this dense album rich of many modern and striking heavy nuggets. - Official website
