Once again we had to be patient to find the trace of Treponem Pal: more than ten years have passed since the release of "Survival Sounds". In the meantime, the band released an album of remixes of the album and a record mixing covers and new material to celebrate their 30th anniversary in 2017. "Screamers" signs the real return to business for the French indus legend who has always been able to shake up his world.
Carried by the unmovable Marco Neves supported by Didier Breard and with now two guitarists in its midst, Treponem Pal promises us a return to the sources around various influences. The titles bringing out the purely industrial side ('The Fall', 'Crazy Woman') are throbbing and threatening with a catchy robotic vocal. The martial side, mixture of Killing Joke and Voivod, has a very effective Sci-fi crazy aspect.
Treponem Pal sometimes hardens the tone in a hardcore spirit tinged with punk that refers to the early 80s ('Out Of Mind', 'Sceamers', 'Earthquake'). The titles are nervous with a relentless darkness and huge riffs. All that sticks to the wall and we savor the vocal work of an impressive Marco. But the band also knows how to add to its indus a pinch of hypnotic and psychedelic new wave, inviting us to a soaring dreamlike trip giving off a trance-like side of crazy tribal dance (Psychedelic Trip', 'Cosmic Riders')
"Screamers" is a successful comeback. Treponem Pal shows a dazzling shape and seems totally impervious to the effects of time. He signs an opus cut in the best of an industrial sound always so intense and far from any commercial will. - Official website
