The first part of the "Readers Of The Run" trilogy from the Italians of Elvenking offered a fresh and direct melodic folk metal. The sequel has been long awaited but finally arrives and is called "Rapture". Composed of eleven tracks, the record shines by its superb cover which plunges us into a mysterious and fairy world.
Like its predecessor, the album is a musical tale with a romantic side. 'Rapture' is the perfect introduction. Epic, powerful and melodic, the track alternates moods with efficiency. The melodies are remarkable and there is a superb folk break. Damna's rocky vocals work wonders on an epic chorus with warm backing vocals.
After this first track, we let ourselves be carried along like in an adventure movie. In this "Rapture", we find short and fast tracks that make you want to raise your fist with a hoarse vocal that brings the stories to life. On the longer tracks, Elvenking showcases a danceable and catchy folk sound with well-crafted fast instrumental parts. It has a lively, cinematic, melancholy feel to it, with easily memorable and unifying choruses.
"Reader Of The Runes - Rapture" is fresh and coherent. It gives you a boost in no time and will delight fans of playful and catchy Heavy folk Metal. - Official website
