Since the release of "Covered In Black" in 2017, the Danes of Anubis Gate have been rather discreet. Only a covers album, "Covered In Colours", released in 2020, has been able to satisfy fans of the demanding progressive metal that the band has been offering for its twenty-year career. This year, Anubis Gate is back with "Interference", released on a new label.

this new opus is long and dense, but well arranged. At its heart are 'Ignorance Is Bliss', 'Number Stations', 'Dissonance Consonance', 'The Intergalactic Dream Of Stardom' and 'Interference', long pieces and delicious journeys alternating moods with finesse. A soaring 70's progressive feel emerges, blending with dazzling technical parts that bring melody to the fore. On vocals, Hennik impresses with a touching emotion. Keyboard and guitar solos are fascinatingly masterful, with a remarkable feeling.

At the same time, Anubis Gate also showcases their purely progressive metal side. 'Emergence', 'Equations' and 'World Of Clay' are fast, technical and impress with their many changes of pace. The choruses are well-crafted, carried by a powerful, melodic Hennik. The instrumental parts are solid and fast-paced and while 'Absence' is soft and light, with a airy quality and a melancholy that gives you the chills.

"Interference" is a great success. Anubis Gate, powerful and catchy, shows a perfect ability to transport the listener and offers an album that is sure to delight fans of progressive metal.
