Barely two years after the superb "Shine A Light On Me Brother", Robert Jon & The Wreck are already releasing a new studio opus with "Ride Into The Light", produced by different legends depending on the title. Behind the console, we find Dave Cobb (Greta Van Fleet, Rival Sons...), Don Was (Rolling Stones...), Kevin Shirley (Iron Maiden, Joe Bonamassa...) or Josh Smith and Joe Bonamassa.

For any other band, this multiplication of contributors might have led to fears of a loss of overall coherence. This is true, but not for Robert Jon & The Wreck, who have already solidly forged their identity as a blend of southern rock, country, hard rock, Americana, classic rock and blues. This band is perfectly capable of reminding hints of legends such as the Eagles ('West Coast Eyes'), the Allman Brothers Band ('Ride Into The Light'), or even both at the same time ('Who Can You Love?'), without ever letting their trademark fade behind their influences.

From the big riff at the frontiers of hard rock on 'Pain No More', co-written with Charlie Starr (Blackberry Smoke), to the most bewitching mid-tempo ballads, "Ride Into The Light" is always carried by the vocals of Robert Jon Burrison, capable of adapting to every mood, and by the luminous solos of a decidedly dazzling Henry James Schneekluth. With a rhythm section in tune and enriched by Steve Maggiora's keyboards, the quintet's music always hits the mark. Tracks such as 'Come At Me' and 'Don't Look Down' exude an infectious good mood, and their choruses are made to be shouted out by a live crowd, while each track in this collection proves to be a finely-crafted gem worth revisiting.

With "Ride Into The Light", Robert Jon & The Wreck have achieved another flawless record, confirming their place on the pinnacle of Rock that goes beyond the southern U.S. to which some might mistakenly limit them. It's a safe bet that the combo led by the pair Burrison / Schneekluth has not finished making a name for itself, to the delight of fans of the genre and an ever-widening public.
