Hailing from Israel, Sinnery is still relatively unknown in our country. Since his debut in 2012, the band has released two albums (the last in 2022) and now he's back with an EP, 'Below The Summit'. The band loves Thrash, but in a muscular way with a modern, hard-hitting edge.

Comprising four tracks and an interlude, the EP confirms this musical trend. Sinnery strikes first with the ferocious 'Somber', a speed Thrash slaughter. Alon Karnieli screams like hell in a tone close to Death Metal. There's a speedy, Testament-like side, coupled with more modern aspects reminiscent of Dew Scented or The Haunted.

In the same vein, 'Share This' kicks ass furiously, evoking early Metallica with a Slayer side in the vocals. 'An Ode (Knife Of Erato)' and 'Serene' skilfully mix Thrash and Death metal with particularly violent vocals, Alon screaming his head off. The Gojira-like epic character of the track, coupled with the Thrash-like riffs and frenzied solos, makes for a result that's both majestic and brutal.

"Below The Summit" is a good calling card for Sinnery. Its biting, merciless thrash has the capacity to seduce extreme metal fans without limit.
