Eight months after their second album "Wonderland", Seventh Crystal present us with a five-track EP entitled "Infinity". Featuring a highly successful cover, it completes this spring's LP with the twenty minutes that it would have stood up to - its moderate length having made its followers wince.
The tracks were recorded during the recording sessions for "Wonderland". Seventh Crystal judged that they exuded a different fragrance to the tracks on offer this spring, and decided that they should be delivered separately. Listening to the work, this otherness is not immediately apparent. At most, the three punchy compositions are possibly a little heavier than Seventh Crystal's usual offerings.
The rhythmic modulations of the eponymous track, its oriental bridge, its synth solo and its beautiful, catchy melodies immediately seduce the listener. More hectic, faster-paced, 'Ready Set Go!' and its catchy piano notes will satisfy Eclipse fans. As for 'Silence', it charms with its percussive backing vocals and high tempo, and intrigues with its surprising sound cuts. All that's left for the fan is to enjoy 'Rivals', the pretty piano/voice ballad, and to revel in 'Memory Lane', a mid-tempo with the arena rock flavors and pop strains that frequently accompany modern melodic metal today.
Infinity" is a great success. So let's forget the debate that may arise from this annual double-bill and simply enjoy this complementary opus. - Official website
