"Claiming its old-school side with a more contemporary production, Venus Loon imposes its style on "Pandora's Paradox", between progressive rock and organic space rock."

While Venus Loon was originally a personal project for Peter Lawson, he finally decided to bring a more organic, human dimension to his work by teaming up with Wolfgang Ostermann, drummer of progressive rock band Frequency Drift.

"Pandora's Paradox" is a kind of modern tribute to the 70s. Fans of progressive rock will be delighted by the compositions, each offering its own evolution, with long, often acoustic intro followed by more electric progressions ('The Knight And The Knave'). Venus Loon also has the good taste to surprise with a kind of instrumental interlude in which Wolfgang justifies his status as a talented drummer and percussionist ('Speaking In Tongues'), giving the impression of being in the presence of a concept.

This is first and foremost a musicians' album, with the instruments at the heart of the project. Vocals, without being relegated to the background, are relatively rare. At times, the timbre is reminiscent of David Bowie's ('The Knight And The Knave'), making this callback to the 70s even more striking. We must salute the careful workmanship of the compositions, which emphasize the balance between rhythm and melody, even if some of them will require several listens before they are fully tamed ('Pandora's Paradox').

With "Pandora's Paradox", Venus Loon asserts its old-school side while taking care to bring in more contemporary production, a style that will appeal as much to fans of progressive rock tinged with neo and space rock as to those wishing to discover these genres.
