Black Bomb A likes to take his time between albums. Fortunately, the wait is worth it, as the band's releases are always guaranteed to be a good slap in the face. Since 2018, the band's rhythm section has been replaced by Jordan and Étienne. On their previous opus, the band offered an excellent thrash-hardcore mix. The newcomer, "Unbuild The World", has the onerous task of doing just as well.

"Unbuild The World" remains in the musical spirit for which Black Bomb A is renowned. It is just as short as its predecessor, offering just over half an hour of music. 'Raise No Flag', 'Blowing Up', 'Masquerade' and 'Silent No More' are formidable hits. Carried along by a formidable rhythm section on a par with the previous one, the tracks are fired up in the form of hardcore Thrash pamphlets. Poun and Arno are as complementary as ever, and the hardcore violence of one is perfectly matched by the raw power of the other.

Even more brutal are 'People Hate People' and 'The Fraud', which verge on Death metal, driven by their unleashed singers. There's also a hint of neo metal in the mix, with the result being a cross between Korn and Slipknot. With 'Crashboys' and 'The Smell Of Napalm', Black Bomb A flirts with the industrial for a chilling result. The violence is enormous, particularly in the chorus of 'Crashboys', and takes us by the throat in the manner of Ministry.

Like its cover, "Unbuild The World" is violent, cold and intense, and shows a Black Bomb A in tune with the air of an age that's very little inclined to optimism.

PERSEFONE: Lingua Ignota: Part I (2024)
PROGRESSIVE METAL - "Lingua Ignota: Part I" would have been very good for an average band, but it's only a good album for a band of Persefone's calibre, who had accustomed us to better things.
THE KILLERS: Wonderful Wonderful (2017)
ROCK - Navigating in their comfort zone, The Killers deliver an introspective "Wonderful Wonderful" with enough variety to appeal to a wide range of listeners.
