The name MoF may seem enigmatic, but their musical universe is just as enigmatic, offering a bold fusion of rap and rock, with a healthy dose of humor to boot. Imagine Eminem and Linkin Park jamming at a comedy club, and you'll have an idea of what MoF is all about.
Created at the instigation of guitarist Réda Boucher, best known for his Youtube channel "Le Campus Musique de Réda", MoF is bound to provoke acerbic criticism from certain haters who hastily judge the work of this "content creator". But we have to admit that in this case, Réda isn't kidding us: "Outsiders" - which is the subject of this article - has elicited rave reviews, so much so that some have even described it as a masterclass.
In concrete terms, MoF draws its inspiration from a multitude of sources, ranging from the big names in rap and rock to emerging artists from the alternative scene. The diversity of influences is reflected in the music, which transcends borders and labels to offer a truly original sound experience. On vocals, Florent Curatola is not to be outdone, with influences ranging from Eminem to Linkin Park to Rage Against the Machine.
But between you and me, this review has just one aim: to encourage you to get over your prejudices and discover MoF, a band that's well worth the detour, not just for the musical aspect. Like any self-respecting content creator, MoF is far from being a simple amateur band.
In short, reminiscent of Falling In Reverse in rap style, yet instrumentally very close to Polyphia, with complex, technical riffs, MoF offers us a combination that makes the musical experience as innovative as it is captivating. - Official website
