"Klogr is back with a vengeance, and in fine shape, with “Fractured Realities”, a progressive metal album tinged with alternative rock influences."

Since “Keystone” and the tour that followed, Klogr has kept a low profile. The pandemic has been swallowed, and since 2023 the band has been back with a slightly reshuffled line-up. This comeback is confirmed by “Fractured Realities”, a concept album about good and evil, driven by guitarist and singer Rusty.

The record, which confirms the Italians' jack-of-all-trades side, contains a wealth of straightforward tracks that see Klogr manage to get a lot of ideas across in a short space of time. With 'Early Wounds', 'The Twisted Art', 'Lead Wing's and 'Whale Fall', we find a remarkable mix of influences. The technique evokes the strength of progressive metal between Tool and The Ocean, with a hypnotic airiness, while the vocals are catchy, reminiscent of Alter Bridge.

'Hysterical Blindness' and 'Waking World' highlight the progressive side. Instrumental passages follow in Ark's footsteps, with a melancholy quality reminiscent of Evergrey, perfectly illustrating the album's concept. At the same time, Klogr also knows how to be catchy without setting aside its progressive aspects. 'Face The Unknown' and ‘Unspoken Word’ feature immediate, rock-tinged choruses designed to appeal to a wide audience.

With “Fractured Realities”, Klogr make a fine return to shape and sign a varied record, without labels or boundaries, in the shape of a remarkable representative of classy alternative progressive metal.

DEVIN TOWNSEND: Powernerd (2024)
PROGRESSIVE METAL - A highly successful transitional album, “Powernerd” allows Devin Townsend to stall fans, with class and elegance, until next year's release of the most ambitious project of his career.
HIGH PARASITE: Forever We Burn (2024)
GOTHIC METAL - Somewhere between death emtal and gothic rock, “Forever We Burn” sees Aaron Stainthorpe make infidelities to My Dying Bride for the first time, resulting in an effective but soulless album.
