The successor of "Legendary Tales" is released quickly. Hardly a year has passed and yet the progress made by Rhapsody is incredible. Fabio sings better than ever and, above all, the band refines its original concept mixing classical (especially baroque), metal and medieval/fantasy atmospheres.

"Symphony Of Enchanted Lands" succeeds in the feat of proposing only striking titles. The whole is essentially based on a melodic Metal Speed base of excellent quality with catchy choruses and brings out classical influences very close to Vivaldi. The success of this record comes from the perfect fusion of these two elements which do not give the impression of being juxtaposed but well aggregated. Obviously, such an exercise could only produce grandiloquent pieces at the border of the pompous. As long as one disregards this excess or better, appreciates it, "Symphony Of Enchanted Lands" will remain an intense and unequalled experience in the genre.

With this album, Rhapsody will impose itself as the leader of this so particular current that it created itself. Many copies will try their chance in this way but very few will leave valid works. None of them has reached the level of this sublime album until now. The Turilli - Staropoli tandem has set the bar very (too?) high for its followers and maybe for itself...

OTHER REVIEWS
RHAPSODY OF FIRE: Legendary Tales (1997)
MELODIC METAL - Combining speed metal, classical music and heroic fantasy, "Legendary Tales" is an invigorating, fresh bubble of oxygen that helped Rhapsody make a name for itself.
RITUAL: Think Like A Mountain (2003)
PROGRESSIVE ROCK - More focused on ambiences than on harmonic constructions, "Think Like A Mountain" is a very successful album that allows us to discover Ritual, a band that has gone a little unnoticed despite its qualities and originality.
