Anekdoten is in a niche that will not make your ears bleed by an avalanche of riffs and technical demonstrations to make you want to store the electric guitar in the attic. Anekdoten clearly follows in King Crimson's footsteps, but without having the genius to do so.
Vemod is still an interesting album. The ensemble is coherent, well executed and the black atmosphere is accentuated by the singer's voice timbre and the parsimonious but well found use of classical instruments and dissonances. To get an idea, the best way is to go directly to the "The Flow" track, which alone illustrates all of Vemod's compositions.
So, even if I wouldn't go so far as to say that this band is taking over from Robert Fripp, I still think you can find some space to accommodate this album between "The Court Of The Crimson King" and "Red". Your discotheque will not be affected and you will have a good time.... - Official website
