One year after the release of what remains the album that launched their career, the Finnish band Nightwish does it again with "Wishmaster". After having left the public under the shock of an album of melodic symphonic metal with female singer perfect in all points, it seemed really difficult to do better, even impossible to do even as well.

With "Wishmaster", Nightwish decided not to change their recipe and to stick as much as possible to what already worked in the past. You liked "Oceanborn", you will like "Wishmaster" as it is identical: the production, the orchestrations and the vocals (except the male voices which disappeared) are the same.

If it is thus useless to describe the album in its entirety, we can nevertheless underline the talent of the band to offer us pieces cut in several parts linked to each other. The exercise is not original, it is obvious, but when you will listen to the title 'Fantasmic', you will realize that one does not necessarily need to be original to be effective. This last track is to be placed in any good melodic metal playlist.

Without the surprise effect, "Wishmaster" will be received a little more coldly than its predecessor. However, it contains all the ingredients that made the success of "Oceanborn". If you liked the first Nightwish effort, this one will only satisfy you.
