For many fans, In Your Multitude remains the best offering from the Norwegians of Conception. More accomplished than the previous Parallel Minds and much more progressive than the last Flow, In Your Multitude quickly became a reference in progressive metal. For my part, I can't really choose among the four wonders of Conception's albums. The Last Sunset and its exemplary freshness, an almost perfect Parallel Minds, this In Your Multitude that transpires musical intelligence and a very immediate last album, which shows a band that constantly tries to evolve.

That's also what Conception is all about, a constant but always delightful evolution. In Your Multitude is remarkable in every way. The frenzied rhythmics are exceptionally rigorous, Tore Ostby's guitar playing is as flamboyant as ever and Roy Khan's singing has never been so powerful and melodic.

From the very first track, (even the first seconds of this track), Under A Mourning Star, we're caught in the throat: its overwhelming riff will leave everyone on the floor. The tracks follow one another and keep the same course: progressive, powerful and very catchy. Two other tracks also stand out, the magnificent A Million Gods and its beautiful instrumental break, as well as the very powerful Solar Serpent.

Decidedly, with Conception, one is rarely disappointed. All their albums are indispensable, but if there is one particularly mythical one for any progressive metal fan, it's In Your Multitude.
