"Fluke? offers us a hard rock that is certainly classic but as dynamic as it is authentic."

Many things can be blamed on all these young, long-toothed groups that were fed to the great Hard-Rock of the 70s and 80s, including the fact that they all end up looking a little bit alike. But it's not so bad because we can only applaud this revival between hard rock and bluesy flavour, where originality counts less than the pleasure of listening to a music which, although tried and tested and using recipes worn out to the core, still makes its little effect. This is the magic of an eternal Hard-Rock that you will never get tired of.

After Tracer, it's the turn of Voodoo Six to come back with a nostalgic record without being old-fashioned. Active under that name since 2003 and already author of two first albums (Feed My Soul and First Hit For Free), they include among them bassist Tony Newton, ex Dirty Deeds, Steve Harris's protected band who took him on the road with Iron Maiden.

Enrobed with a warm and powerful sound, without ever drowning out a welcome authenticity, it's with the Rock the way we like it that the British open the floodgates: rough vocals veiled by a smooth bluesy touch, lumberjack riffs and flamboyant soli and discreet rhythm (although the bass lines are huge and groovy on "Mountain". ...) in the great tradition of the genre.

Everything is there, the compositions, the feeling, the class and the communicative energy. The great moments follow one after the other, from "Take The Blame", perfect as an appetizer, to the "Long Way From Home" terminal, close to the Whitesnake of the great era. In the middle of this electric torrent dominated by the gigantic "Like The Others Did", whose introduction and nervous chords you won't soon forget, springs "Underneath My Skin", a unique (power) ballad, beautiful to cry, enhanced by a few choruses and propelled by Luke Purdie's vocal lines, able to give you shivers, frankly romantic and full of feeling.

Imperceptible and polished like a goldsmith's work, immediate and nervous, these tracks honour their specifications, making Fluke? originally released in 2010 and to which Bad Reputation offers a second life, a great record which should offer its authors the precious sesame to a well-deserved success. Fans will not be disappointed!

THE DOORS: L.A. Woman (1971)
BLUES - Containing the hit 'Riders Of The Storm', "L.A. Woman" is a small step for The Doors, but a big step for rock'n'roll!
GARY MOORE: Still Got The Blues (1990)
BLUES - "Still Got The Blues" stands out as a remarkable Blues-Rock album, halfway between the tribute to the legends of the genre and the real work of composition.
