"Coma Of Souls", Kreator's fifth album, comes at a time when the German band is in full confidence and keeps progressing to the point of being one of the major bands of the world metal scene. On this album, Kreator will take special care to expose the social problems of our modern world.

'When The Sun Burns Red' and 'People Of The Lie', the two main tracks of the album, show this with strength and conviction. The first one is a huge Thrash track with an excellent melodic acoustic beginning while the second one offers a slogan-like refrain particularly impactful. Let's add 'Terror Zone' in a slightly calmer atmosphere counterbalanced by the vocals of Mille who remains true to himself.

The following tracks are not to be ashamed of the comparison: 'Coma Of Souls', 'World Beyond' and 'Agents Of Brutality' are other vindictive and direct tracks and cast in steel. The drums are omnipresent while on the guitar, Mille and Frank go straight to the point with incisive riffs and soli. Let's not forget the certainly less known but equally efficient tracks such as 'Material World Paranoia', 'Hidden Dictator' or 'Mental Slavery', perfect representatives of what the Kreator formula is capable of producing at its best with an alternation between brutal and more melodic passages.

"Coma Of Souls" is one of those albums without weaknesses or dead times, those that mark the history of a band and influence a whole generation of fans and musicians. With it, Kreator has reached the end of its approach and brilliantly completes a first part of its career without fail. Now, while more and more brutal musical trends are arriving in force at the beginning of the 90's, they will have to reinvent themselves or else they will stagnate.

PROCOL HARUM: Grand Hotel (1973)
ROCK - "Grand Hotel" manages to be captivating from beginning to end while remaining very varied. If you must have only one Procol Harum album, it is this one!
CHILDREN OF BODOM: Hatebreeder (1999)
DEATH METAL - Even better than its predecessor, "Hatebreeder" takes neo-classical experimentation one step further, allowing Children Of Bodom to enter the pantheon of the genre's legendary bands.
