Since "Are You Ready To Rock", the third album of Eclipse, a Swedish Hard FM band, there has been the album of W.E.T., a new melodic Hard-Rock project featuring, among others, two musicians from Eclipse, Erik Martensson and Magnus Henriksson. While the first opus cited deserved special attention, the second had been the subject of downright admiring criticism. Today, Eclipse is back with "Bleed And Scream". The least we can say is that W.E.T. was a turning point in the lives of the two friends, so much this new opus is tinged with the characteristics of their parallel project.

Indeed, the Swedes have moved up a gear here: exit the classicism of the 80's Hard FM recipes and welcome to the Melodic Hard-Rock close to Pretty Maids. "Bleed And Scream" is a dynamic album, with a powerful and modern sound and extremely melodious. With the beautifully vocals by an Erik Martensson in a state of grace, it is punctuated by dazzling riffs and five-star guitar solos by Magnus Henriksson.

This opus is a succession of hits as the melodic monuments it contains are numerous. To make you salivate, let's mention the eponymous track "Bleed And Scream" (video below) which could compete for the hit melodic Hard rock of the year, "A Bitter Taste" which starts gently and ends in a dizzying avalanche of soli, "S.O.S." which you will listen to at least fifty times in a row, and "Wake Me Up" which opens the album by announcing the color of what will follow, namely energy and catchy melodies. "About To Break", which is closer to Dare, and "Battlegrounds" which recalls the late Gary Moore with an atmosphere of "Over The Hills", deserve to be mentioned and we will stop there.

This should be enough to make you want to get this little back-to-school bomb that can be classified, without hesitation, at the same level, in terms of quality, as the W.E.T. album and the latest H.E.A.T.

THE GATHERING: Disclosure (2012)
ATMOSPHERIC ROCK - Closer to "How To Measure A Planet?" than to "The West Pole", "Disclosure" confirms that The Gathering still remains this precious and inspired band.
PROCOL HARUM: Grand Hotel (1973)
ROCK - "Grand Hotel" manages to be captivating from beginning to end while remaining very varied. If you must have only one Procol Harum album, it is this one!
