Second album of Fear Factory, "Demanufacture" is released in 1995 after an intense tour in the United States and Europe with Sepultura, Cathedral or Biohazard. It is the fruit of a new collaboration with Colin Richardson and sees the arrival of Christian Olde Wolbers on bass. Concept album, perfectly illustrated by the cover, about a fight between man and machine, "Demanufacture" is a bomb of a rare intensity which confirms what we sensed about this band with the 1st album.

Better produced, more compact, better played and sung, "Demanufacture" is a great industrial thrash album. The album has a number of unstoppable tracks that will contribute to shape the extreme metal of the 90s. With "Demanufacture", "Replica", "H-K (Hunter Killer)", "Zero Signal", "Self Bias Resistor" or "New Breed", Fear Factory hits hard and right. The sound is of an incredible purity, Burton C. Bell alternates clear vocals and growls with an insolent ease, Dino Cazares is at his best and distils riffs of a rare precision and power. The one of "Demanufacture" is a model of the kind, very heavy it ranks among the best ever composed. Finally, Raymond Herrera on drums is a real machine and contributes to this very particular icy atmosphere that makes the strength of the album. The impression of listening to the soundtrack of a Blade Runner, especially on "Zero Signal", is prevalent thanks to the few more aerial passages that create an atmosphere out of time and classic metal standards.

Flawless, "Demanufacture" is a great record, a master standard of the 90's thrash scene and a summit for its authors. In a short time, Fear Factory will change dimension to go from simple hope to the leader of its scene and even of metal in general. The pressure will be strong to follow up such a monument.
