Since "Dead or Dreaming", Into Eternity never stopped challenging and transcending a style they had created, a mix of progressive, heavy melodic and furious death. The musicians combine extreme technique, extreme music, and sometimes extreme themes, leaving in their wake a perfume mixed with emotion, rage and energy. The band - now led by a frontwoman (Amanda Keirnan) - took its time (ten years!) to follow up on the despair of "The Incurable Tragedy": announced in May 2014, "Sirens" is released more than four years later, with a reshuffled line-up, keeping only Tim Roth and Troy Bleich from the previous album.

Into Eternity creates melodies that embody power, pain and darkness. 'Fringes of Psychosis' with its warm guitar, its diaphanous acoustic six-string or its voice on the edge of detachment charm the listener. The bliss envelops 'The Sirens' which unveils the moving melody of an intimate piano. The combo really has a sense of timing by starting this opus with a delicate counter-foot.

But darkness and melancholy will become omnipresent, especially on 'Sandstorm' with its hypnotic arpeggios, its powerful voice and its martial rhythm, or on 'This Frozen Hell' which, while remaining very sepulchral, is very powerful. The vocals draw up a melodic mille-feuilles, play with harmonies ('Dead Or Dreaming'). 'Devoured by Sarcopenia', has a catchy melody full of despair and mix heavy, death and crazy technique (impeccable sweeping) that overwhelms the listener with a rare crystalline emotion.

'Fukushima' builds up a rise in power that verges on the heights of immediate pleasure. This is the strength of the formation: a simplicity and a richness mixed together that seems so obvious. It is not 'The Scattering of Ashes Pt2' that will prove the contrary, because this "suite", based on a bare acoustic guitar and rich orchestrations, is a cry of pain.

Built around beauty, tenderness, fury and instrumental mastery, "The Sirens" leaves the listener speechless. After a long wait, Into Eternity fulfills our hopes with an opus where every moment transcends the genre, between light and darkness, between power and softness. Stripped of any grandiloquence or pomp, the formation aims directly at the heart and reaches it without detours.

SALVA: Off The Deep End (2018)
PROGRESSIVE ROCK - Very accessible music but far from being linear, "Off The Deep End" should rally new fans and allow Salva to finally make a name for itself.
CONCEPTION: My Dark Symphony (2018)
PROGRESSIVE METAL - The return of Conception, although it's done through this short EP, doesn't disappoint and on the contrary reassures on the preserved talent of the Norwegians.
