During 2018, Tom Angelripper chose to change everything in Sodom. This cost his two acolytes, Markus Freiwald and Bernemann their place. To avoid falling into oblivion, the two accomplices quickly got back on track by founding Bonded. They brought in three seasoned musicians, including Chris Tsitsis ex-Suicidal Angels and Ingo Bajonczak from Assassin to complete their team.

The result is a first draft, "Rest In Violence". Considering the background of the duo, it is not difficult to guess their firm intention to continue in a Thrash as they have been practicing it for nearly 30 years. In a little over 40 minutes and 10 tracks, Bonded goes straight to the point. We find the best of the genre at the crossroads of Testament, Slayer or Anthrax.

The disc presents two categories of titles. There are those that lean towards Testament for their catchy side. 'Godgiven', 'I'm Charlie', 'The Rattle & The Snake' and 'Galaxy M87' do the job well. Igon has a perfect tone with a lot of power. The refrains are neat, we appreciate the excellent riffs as well as the melodic and fast solos. Also worth mentioning is the good lyrics of an 'Je Suis Charlie' with an efficient engaged chorus.

At side Bonded knows how to accelerate the rhythm. On 'Suit Murderer' 'Rest In Violence' and 'Arrival', the rhythm is very fast through solos and fiery riffs. Igon screams like a devil and offers a beautiful demonstration of strength. His duet with Bobby from Overkill and his flayed vocals on 'Suit Murderer' are just perfect. Finally, let's mention 'The Outer Rim', a good mix that starts as a melancholic power ballad before exploding with ferocity.

For a first draft, Bonded succeeds well. His thrash is effective in the shape of a nice anthology of the best of the genre. "Rest In Violence" has everything to delight fans and shows that the founding duo is capable of having another life far from Sodom.
