Stan Bush is an American singer, songwriter, performer and musician originally from Orlando, Florida. He is best known as the creator of the blockbuster movie franchise "Transformers", for his 1997 Daytime Emmy Award winning song 'Til I Was Loved By You', and as the creator of the Olympic anthem for the U.S. swim team at the 1996 Olympics ('Capture The Dream'). Above all, however, he is to be commended for his perseverance. Indeed, in this year 2020, he is releasing his fourteenth album, a "Dare To Dream" that we hope will be more satisfying than his last opus released in 2017 ("Change The World") and on par with his big brother released in 2014 ("The Ultimate").
Stan Bush was 27 years old in 1980, and like many of his contemporaries, he was rocked by the melodic hard rock that was all the rage in that decade. The American is by nature purposeful, thoughtful and positive, and his songs are a reflection of his soul. With his soft keyboards, seductive guitar/voice harmonies, and emphatic refrains from the 80's, he encourages us to stay strong, persevere and strive to improve a world that is slowly deteriorating.
We find in this "Dare To Dream" old friends, who came with their sounds from the past, such as Bon Jovi, Foreigner, Survivor, Bryan Adams and Van Halen. "Dare To Dream" won't revolutionize our musical daily life but he puts balm in our hearts and succeeds in his entertaining work.
Beautiful compositions sprinkle this opus: 'Born To Fight', which brings us back to Survivor and was chosen by Netflix as the soundtrack of his popular manga's Baki and Kengan Ashura, without forgetting the eponymous title which confines to the archetype of what Bush likes to propose. Let us also evoke the mid-tempo The 'Time Of Your Life', where Bryan Adams gives us a wink and the ballad 'A Dream Of Love', which reminds us a lot of Foreigner's 'I Waiting For A Girl Like You'. Finally, we'll add 'The 80's', built on his chorus like the famous 'Animal' by Def Leppard, 'True Believer' with its keyboards worthy of the Bon Jovi of the early days and 'Never Give Up', whose synths make us think of the Van Halen of the 80's.
Stan Bush comes back in shape with this "Dare To Dream" full of pleasant moments that put us in a good mood. Those who are not allergic to 80's hard FM will be delighted, this record is made for them. - Official website
