With “Metamorpho'z”, frenchies' Norwalk had launched their career in an interesting way, showing a good disposition for a hard-hitting thrash. Since then, however, the band has kept a low profile, releasing just one EP in 2016. We had to wait another nine years to find this little world again with a second album, “Psycho Mirror”.

Consisting of eight tracks, “Psycho Mirror” kicks off with a thrashy intro in the form of a percussive solo. Once past this calling card, the record doesn't leave you unscathed. It builds up pressure as if a hand were taking its time to grab you by the throat. 'Psycho Mirror' and 'Cognitive Dissonance' are a good mix of galloping thrash and heavy-tinged thrash akin to 2000s Metallica. The band enjoy long instrumental tracks, and John's vocals are powerful, not unlike John Bush or Chuck Billy.

With 'March Of The Clicks', 'Feelings Hunter', 'Creeping Me' and 'Thrash Racers', Norwalk really gets down to business. The velocity of the tracks and the speed of execution is impressive. The band's aggressive, vicious sound is reminiscent of Slayer, with ferocious vocals worthy of Tom Araya. The band's long, rousing instrumental sections demonstrate a high level of technical skill. The icing on the cake is 'Hybrid Museum Journey'. This long instrumental starts off in soft mode, both epic and melodic, before accelerating into velocity horizons reminiscent of early Metallica.

With “Psycho Mirror”, Norwalk makes a solid return to business. It's a solid bomb cut from the best thrash that sticks to the wall without mercy.

SIDEBURN: Fired Up (2022)
HARD ROCK - While retaining its trademark inspired by the Australian legends of the genre, Sideburn nevertheless manages to renew itself sufficiently to make “Fired Up” unstoppable.
REMAINS OF MORPHEUS: Joik (2025)
POST ROCK - The french trio's second album, Remains of Morpheus takes us on a dense, raw and inhabited instrumental journey, somewhere between post-rock, progressive and noise.
